Dubai's Gulfood with its conference, international exhibitions and Salon Culinaire competition is a must-visit event for everyone involved in the food trade

Billed as the world’s biggest food and hospitality exhibition, the annual Gulfood event, held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, United Arab Emirates, at the end of every February, is the place for all business professionals and trade personnel to visit to learn the latest trends, products and news relating to the international food, beverage and hospitality industry.

Learn About Key Food Market Trends at Gulfood Conference

Open only to business and trade people who work in the food, beverage and hospitality industries, the annual Gulfood exhibition held at the largest Dubai World Trade Centre venue boasted some 3300 exhibitors and some 56,000 odd visitors in 2010 and saw the introduction of Gulfood Conference, subtitled “Global Trends in Food, Beverage and Processing.”

With a variety of keynote speakers, debates and seminars on topics such as packaging, marketing, import/export considerations and critical issues, Gulfood Conference is not only a great place to learn about the latest advances in the industry, but also the place to go to meet and network with international food and beverage experts, buyers and sellers.

Enjoy the Emirates International Salon Culinaire at Gulfood

Whether you’re an hotelier, chef, restaurateur or buyer for a food outlet, Gulfood is the exhibition to visit to check out the latest advances in kitchen gadgets and food production machinery as well as watch some 1500 aspiring world-class international chefs face each other in the great cook-off that is the Emirates International Salon Culinaire.

Spread over the four days of Gulfood, the competition is divided into some 20 odd “classes” covering reasonably easy tasks like creating a four course vegetarian dinner to more complex culinary challenges such as cutting up a dressed lamb carcass into a set of specific joints and pieces without the use of power tools and carving a masterpiece from a block of ice.

How to Get to Dubai's Gulfood Exhibition and Conference

The closest airport to the Gulfood venue, just 5 km away, is Dubai International Airport which offers a variety of flights from international destinations such as London Heathrow and Manchester in the UK and New York JFK and Washington in the US. The next closest is Sharjah International Airport which is 25km away although this offers fewer international destination options.

If flights to those two airports cannot be conveniently arranged, then the third option is Abu Dhabi International Airport which is some 110 km away from the venue, however, it does offer internal flights to Dubai International Airport. With several hotels and short-stay holiday apartments close to the Gulfood venue, conveniently placed accommodation is easy to book through any reputable travel agent.
